La Cañada Golf Club - Cádiz
La Cañada Golf Club is situated in Guadiaro, San Roque (Cádiz), very close to Sotogrande, and was founded in 1982. It is regarded as the first public golf course on the Costa del Sol and features an 18-hole, par-71 course.
The layout combines the work of two great designers: the current first nine holes were designed by Dave Thomas, whilst the second nine are the work of Robert Trent Jones Sr. The course features gentle undulations, abundant native woodland, spacious greens and excellent views of the surrounding countryside and the Mediterranean.
A historic 18-hole, par-71 course situated in Guadiaro, very close to Sotogrande, combining the designs of Dave Thomas and Robert Trent Jones Sr. Its fairways wind through gently undulating terrain surrounded by abundant native vegetation, creating a varied round in which strategy and ball placement play a key role.
Its spacious greens feature varying slopes and demand precision on approach shots, whilst the variety of the layout encourages players to use virtually every club in their bag. The magnificent views of the Mediterranean and the course’s seamless integration into the landscape add a special appeal throughout the round.
The 18th hole, crossed by the ravine that gives the course its name, provides the perfect finale to an entertaining, strategic round full of character.
