Real Guadalhorce Golf Club - Málaga
Real Guadalhorce Golf Club is situated in Campanillas, Málaga, to the north of the city’s airport. Founded in 1980, its main course was originally designed by the Finnish architect Kosti Kuronen and subsequently redesigned by the Málaga-born golfer Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
It features 18 holes, is a par 72 course and measures approximately 6,200 metres, and is notable for offering two distinctly different halves: the first nine holes combine a more classic and natural style, whilst the second nine feature lakes, bunkers and elevated greens more prominently.
An attractive course in Málaga, originally designed by Kosti Kuronen and redesigned by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, offering an 18-hole, par-72 layout with two very distinct sections. The first nine holes have a distinct parkland style, winding through gentle hills and valleys amidst lush vegetation, with fairways that follow the natural contours of the land and large greens that demand precision.
On the back nine, the course takes on a more strategic character, with elevated greens, bunkers and several water hazards coming into play on key holes. All this creates a varied round in which it is necessary to combine distance, strategy and good play around the green.
Its Mediterranean setting and the historic 18th-century country house that houses the Clubhouse complete the experience of one of Málaga’s most distinctive courses.
